I am taking this information from a thread on another forum. This is "Elegia", my lightsaber. It is a combat ready lightsaber prop crafted by a company called Ultrasabers (look them up, because they are really awesome). I have been working on customizing this for a while. I will be having a costume to go with it as well.
I finally aquired my saber for my birthday (I turned 21 today). Because of that, I immediately began customizing it with various things going by a plan I have drawn out beforehand. It is a BR Initiate V3 with Sound.
First off all, I added O-rings and a tennis racket grip on the hilt. I wanted a nice feel and hilt reminisent of one of the Old Republic Sabers. I made sure to cut away a piece so that the Covertec Wheel fit nicely and was exposed so I could wear it on my belt and costume when I get that far.
As for the emitter, I used an old piece of another prop saber from Parks Sabers that my grandfather bought for me a few years before he passed away. I replaced the retension screw with another screw so that it was the right length and helped the emitter fit snugly into place. Also, a bolt because it was a nice little asthetic to it. The new emitter fits perfectly and is completely snug to the hilt; as stable as can be. All I have to do to change out blades or blade plugs is unscrew the new retension bit to swap things out.
I plan to purchase a new pommel at some point, because I have one in mind but I am waiting until I get a chance and work more on the costume I want to put together.
I have named the saber Elegia, a Latin root for the term "Elegy," which is a type of mournful poem or song.
Behold, Elegia!
Alright, so I finally got my new pommel, and I have photos of the finished work. The only thing left to do is maybe upgrade it in the future for FoC and Quick Disconnects (if possible?). This will be my saber for now, until I can afford to buy another one one day.
Once more, the color is BR. Very bright, very lovely shade of red, with an UEMidgrade blade. The emitter shroud was from a Parksaber part that I had sitting around thanks to my grandfather. I think the Archon pommel I ordered fits the design very well, and I'm very pleased with the way it came out. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of FoC, but hey, one can only afford so much at a time. I'm just happy to have it completed. Anything else I would consider upgrading is from a latching switch to a red AV switch. The current sound is the default Obsidian sound font in Obsidian V.3.
Now to work on finishing my Sith costume!
